As we step into the next phase of our journey at ABC Danmark, we are thrilled to share our comprehensive plan for the upcoming two years. Our roadmap is a testament to our unwavering commitment to supporting and empowering the Bhutanese refugee community in Denmark.

Upcoming Events & Advocacy Initiatives:

We are delighted to announce a collaboration with ENS and the Danish Refugee Council for a film screening on November 27th, followed by a panel discussion on statelessness issues. Our President, Thugten Drukpa, will be a panelist, contributing valuable insights and a comprehensive statement that will be shared with the group for feedback.

Furthermore, we are planning a public meeting in Middelfart, tentatively titled ‘Chayapan Karyakram,’ to raise awareness about our initiatives. This event will feature a dynamic PowerPoint presentation to engage and educate the community about our work.

Strategic Work Division & Task Groups:

In our quest to improve operational efficiency, we have undertaken strategic work division among board members. A task group comprising Esben, Arun, Bhupas, and Purna has been formed to investigate the UNHCR-Danish government agreement regarding the reception of Bhutanese refugees in Denmark.

Empowering Stories Through Advocacy Videos:

In line with our advocacy efforts, we have decided to create testimonial videos featuring Bhutanese refugees who have successfully obtained citizenship in their resettlement countries. These powerful narratives will serve as a compelling tool to advocate for improved refugee and citizenship policies in Denmark.

Enhanced Communication & Community Support:

To improve communication with the Bhutanese refugee community, we are implementing bulb SMS and announcement video clips. Additionally, a help desk will be established to provide support and assistance to the community.

Funding & Financial Stability:

Securing funds for our future activities remains a priority. Each board member will actively explore funding opportunities, and we will explore avenues to enhance the organization’s financial stability, including renting out event decoration items to community members.

Cultural Celebrations & Activities:

Despite the unavailability of a venue for the Dasai-Tihar program this year, we are excited to organize a ‘Christmas Dinner’ at the Asia restaurant in Middelfart, an indoor sports activity in Horsens during week 15 of 2024, and the ABCD Cup 2024 in collaboration with Hatemalo, contingent on interest from the local community.

In Conclusion:

The plans and initiatives outlined for the next two years are a testament to ABC Danmark’s commitment to empowering the Bhutanese refugee community in Denmark. We are excited about the positive impact these initiatives will have and are grateful for the support and collaboration of our partners and community members.
